SHM.Concerts is my concert-related passion project. I'd love to someday hop on a tour as a photographer or as a camera operator or even run LED wall content, but alas, the closest I've gotten there is local venue work (which I still love - you can't beat being close to home and family!). That being said, I spend my time outside of work doing a lot of the same things as I do at work: going to concerts and festivals.
I went to my first concert when I was 7, and believe it or not it was none other than country artist Tim McGraw - yeah, it was my mom's idea. When I was 14 though I got her to take me to my very first Warped Tour; I'd definitely liked the country shows I went to with her before then, but something clicked for me that day (it might have just been a crowd surfer kicking me during Bring Me The Horizon). As I'm sure you can imagine, I think I've lost count of all the shows I've gone to locally, and my new favorite way to vacation is to pick a city to visit based on its proximity to a music festival on my bucket list. I've started to document all of this on Instagram under the name @shm.concerts, because I think this is a creative way out of the trap of "you're never going to watch that video back!" I like to think of SHM.Concerts as a link between my personal life and my professional life. It's a love letter to the places I go, the experiences I have, and the work I love to do. |
